As of April 12, 2016, Microsoft has discontinued extended support for SQL Server 2005. No patches or security updates will be available for this version of the server. Running Palstat CAQ on SQL Server 2005 is still supported, but we recommend customers upgrade to the latest version of SQL Server for both performance and security reasons.

We will notify customers well in advance of the discontinuation of SQL Server 2005 support for running Palstat CAQ in the future.

Customers using SQL Server 2005 Express to run Palstat CAQ can upgrade to SQL Server 2016 Express at any time for free. The size and performance limitations of the database remain in this edition, making it particularly suitable for small installations.

Customers using higher editions of SQL Server 2005 (Standard, Enterprise) can purchase the current versions from their vendor.
